Photo by @renaeffendiphoto | Built over the course of eight centuries, the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, houses a prominent pilgrimage site—the shrine of Qusam Ibn Abbas, a cousin of the prophet Muhammad, who is thought to have introduced Islam to Samarkand in the 7th century.
