京都の源光庵同様、アジサイの名所である鎌倉の明月院にもある、悟りの窓。その丸い窓を通して見える庭園は、まるで丸い額縁で切り取られた自然の絵画そのもの。そんな悟りの窓から見える新緑の世界をイメージした錦玉と羊羹の和菓子です。

Today’s Wagashi : Summer Landscape
In Japanese architecture, the role of windows is not only for lighting or ventilation, but also for enjoying the view from them. Cutting out a piece of the scenery with a window, this is a unique way of enjoying nature. The famous circle window at Meigetsu-in in Kamakura is called "the window of spiritual enlightenment”. This confectionary visualizes the lively green scenery through the circle window in the early summer.
