Happy #TrilobiteTuesday! This week, we have a special update from one of our scientists: Museum Associate Curator Melanie Hopkins was in the field a few days ago. Her team's goal? Collect juvenile trilobite specimens in order to study growth rates in trilobites. Dr. Hopkins says, "[When] looking for baby trilobites out in Utah, sometimes we find something a little bigger." The first photo is a "nice example" of the trilobite Asaphiscus wheeleri, and the second photo shows juveniles! Black circles indicate their location on the rocks 👏👀
