Mood as the weekend approaches? Golden—so, meet Gee’s golden langur (Trachypithecus geei). It lives high in the treetops in forests along the border between India and Bhutan, where it snacks on fruits, leaves, seeds, and flowers. The reclusive primate is easily recognizable by the color of its fur, along with its slender limbs; its body can be as long as 29 inches (75 centimeters), not including its tail, which can add another 40 inches (100 centimeters). Since it’s so reliant on trees, this endangered species is particularly threatened by habitat destruction due to deforestation.
