【3月3日は雛祭り】
女の子の健やかな成長や幸せを願う雛祭り。
今日は八芳園内にあるレストランでは京都の老舗 豆冨さんの"ひなあられ"をお配りしています。

雛祭りに欠かせない雛人形も展示しております。
雛人形の由来は諸説あり、一般的には、桃の節句に災いや厄を水に流し、身を清めるために使われた人の形をした紙や人形が起源とされています。
時代とともに、水に流す「流し雛」から、飾って楽しむ「雛遊び」に移行することで、外見の美しさを追求した人形になったようです。
雛人形が災いの身代わりになってくれる、厄よけの意味があることに変わりはありません。
昔から地域や家柄などでさまざまな意味が込められていたようで、
雛人形が持ち主を守ってくれるということから、江戸時代の上流階級では嫁入り道具のひとつとして用意されたそうです。

色々な歴史を経て、雛祭りは子どもが元気で幸せに成長できるようにお祝いする日となり、雛人形は子供たちを守ってくれる人形、と伝わるようになりました。

庭園では満開の河津桜に続いて吉野桜のつぼみが膨らみ始め、
ひな祭りが終わると庭園は春の賑わいを見せはじめます。

Hina-Matsuri (Doll festival) is a day to wish girls’ healthy growth and happiness.
At the restaurants in Happo-en, ‘Hina-Arare (colored sweet rice crackers) was distributed.

There are some legends of origin of hina dolls and it is generally said that the origin is paper and dolls in the form of a person used to purify themselves by letting evil and misfortune flow onto the water in the season of peach flower.
Along with the times, It seems that it became a doll pursuing the beauty of the appearance by shifting from "flowing doll on the water" to "doll play'" enjoying decorating.
There is no difference between the legends that a hina doll can be a substitute for disaster and bad fortune.
It seems that various meanings were of the dolls in each region and family etc from long ago.
From the fact that hina dolls protect the owner,it seems that in the upper class in the Edo period it was prepared as one of the wedding preparation.
Through the various histories, the doll festival became a day to celebrate to wish children may grow well and happy, and hina dolls have been delivered as dolls to protect children.
Becoming into March, the buds of cherry blossoms have started to be colored.The garden of Happo-en has begun to show the bustle of spring.
