Photo by Robbie Shone @shonephoto | Tonight, the evening of December 5, is known in many alpine countries as Krampusnacht (krampus night). Krampus is the assistant of St. Nicholas. He is a hairy, horned, cloven-hooved figure with bells, chains, birch rods, and sometimes a basket. During the Christmas season, St. Nicholas rewards children who have behaved well, while the Krampus punishes children who have behaved badly. While hiding in the shadows, I managed to make a few pictures this evening, before the Krampus saw me and sent me to Hell with all the other bad children!
