As we breach 3,000 signatures, I read an update from Dr Amy Khor concluding the same - “That we in Singapore as consumers can generally reduce their environmental impact by using reusable bags and food containers instead of disposables”. This means they WILL STILL CREATE THEM AND INCINERATE THEM inherently swapping one kind of pollution for another while expecting consumers to take responsibility for refusing, reusing, byo, but still make and offer single use plastic without education on the matter. Singaporeans use an average of 13 plastic bags a day, amounting to 27 billion plastic bags used annually. Without levy, this mindless consumption will not change. I have done all I can guys! The ball is in your court?...with 57k followers on my platform I do expect to be able to reach you with this post and ask that you sign and share the petition link in bio. Ask your friends, colleagues, family to sign too! I did and I didn’t get a single NO, meaning that everyone cares and is aware of this issue, but needs a platform to speak. It doesn’t take a minute and it could make a world of difference.
