When a boy in Kazinga, a fishing village on Lake Tanganyika, is age 4 or 5 they may swim alongside the boats of the elder fishermen to scare small fish, mostly Dagaa, a Sardine, into the nets. Spotters, visible in the background of this photo, will spend hours looking for fish while paddling and standing in their canoes.
