Did you know the orangutan (Pongo) was the first ape that Charles Darwin ever saw? These highly intelligent primates make and use tools, including for extracting insects or reaching other food, like honey or fruit. Orangutans, which are the largest arboreal animals, also build nests each night and sometimes for naps. When it rains, they may even use large leaves to cover up and stay dry.
