今日の和菓子: 六花
今週末も寒波は衰える毛気配がなく、東京でもまだ雪が残っています❄️雪は昔から花に例えられてきました。「六花(六角形の雪の結晶の形)」や「寒花(雪を冬の花に見立てて)」など、花にまつわる異名をたくさん持つ雪。
たしかに、その結晶は本物の花よりも繊細で美しい。 その美しさとはかなさゆえ、春が桜なら冬は雪こそが、日本文化を象徴するシンボルなのかもしれません。
Today’s Wagash : Snow Flower
Snow has been likened to tiny flowers for a long time through the beautiful and delicate forms that they take on. It has verious different names related with a flower in Japanese such as "Rikka (six-petal (Hexagon)-flower)"or “Kanka (cold flower)" A snowdrop can also be a symbol of Japanese culture because of the ephemeral beauty, just like cherry blossoms in spring.
