Here’s a print with some spooky #Halloween bats, cats and owls by Spanish artist Francisco de Goya. In 1799 Goya produced a series of 80 etchings known as Los Caprichos. The series satirised the vices and follies of society – this print is titled ‘The sleep of reason produces monsters’. It is the opening to the second chapter in the series, set in a nightmarish realm where witches and demons feature heavily.
