During remarks in the Oval Office on Oct. 11, 2017, President Trump said he wants the U.S. nuclear arsenal in "tiptop shape" but has not asked that it be greatly expanded. Trump was responding to a news report that he had said during a July meeting at the Pentagon that he wanted what amounted to nearly a 10-fold increase in the number of U.S. nuclear weapons. He then decried what he called "fake news" and said "it's, frankly, disgusting the way the press is able to write whatever they want to write and people should look into it." His comments come almost a week after White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders described Trump as "an incredible advocate of the First Amendment." Video source: CNN, Pool
