Male vermilion cardinals like this one photographed at @aviarionacional are the most radiant of all three cardinal species. Along with their brilliant red plumage, they sport a tall crown of feathers on the tops of their heads. This species of cardinal is found along the Caribbean coasts of Venezuela and Colombia and can usually be seen singing from their perches early in the morning.
