Photo by @ciriljazbec / Great to hear the news that my homeland Slovenia added water to constitution as fundamental right for all!
With 64 votes in favour and none against, the 90-seat parliament added an article to the EU country’s constitution ensuring that everyone has the right to drinkable water and preventing it from being commercialised.
Having been the first EU country to include the right to water in its constitution , I hope we have set an example for other states to follow.
Slovenia is a mountainous, water-rich​ ​country with more than half its territory covered by forest.
