For the latest #CreativeNewYork interview, #PopRally chatted with artist and software engineer James George (@obviousjim) about the revolutionary potential of combining technology and art and "CLOUDS," the mold-breaking interactive documentary he created with @jonathanminard. The film screens tomorrow as part of MoMA’s film program "Slithering Screens: 10 Years of New Frontier at @SundanceInstitute" opening today and running through Friday. "@jonathanminard and I first met at the Studio for Creative Inquiry at @CarnegieMellon, where the main topic was reflecting on the artistic possibilities of 3D. The breakthrough moment was when we started experimenting with the Microsoft Kinect and writing code to transform it into a completely new type of video camera. That was the genesis of 'CLOUDS,' and we spent the next several years interviewing people working at the intersection of art and technology — including Paola Antonelli (@paolantonelli), Aaron Koblin, Fernanda Viegas, and many others— and starting to build this incredible archive."–James George
