With a collection of over 2 million books, manuscripts, maps, and letters at @SILibraries, you’d be hard-pressed to not find something that interests you! Take #bicycling for instance--we’ve digitized a number of early cycling periodicals like “Bearings” (1896) where this cycling ad was printed.
Not only do these publications give a view of the history of transportation, they provide a glimpse into societal shifts happening at the time, like the empowerment of women, changes in gender relations, and new fashions (like pants!) reflecting the increased mobility and opportunity of women.
