Nemo Moment by @daviddoubilet A male clownfish aggressively guards his clutch of nearly 1000 eggs hidden beneath its host anemone in #Anilao #Philippines. The male will fan and aerate the eggs for 6-10 days until they hatch. If the breeding female dies the next largest male will become a female, this process is called sequential hermaphroditism. I look forward to returning to the Philippines in April for @ナショナルジオグラフィック story on #CoralTriangle an area of the greatest marine biodiversity on our planet bordered by #Indonesia, #PapuaNewGuinea and #Philippines. With @natgeocreative @thephotosociety #ocean #nemo #life for #moreocean #followme @jenniferhayesig and @daviddoubilet
