Some of the islands in the Falklands have been fully protected by the removal of rats and agricultural species such sheep and cattle. With that small step, these islands have returned to their original pristine state and are once again thriving ecosystems with recovered vegetation and healthy populations of seals, sea lions, penguins, albatross, caracaras and skuas. I found it amazing how easily natural ecosystems rebound once we just get out of the way. #followme on @paulnicklen to learn a lot more about marine ecosystems.
