Farmer reflected in the corn he's harvesting with a combine in the Midwest, a region of the United States sometimes refers to as the breadbasket of the world for the sheer quantity of grains grown. Today grains such as corn and soybean no longer only feed humans, diverting food grains into the bellies of livestock for the global growth in meat consumption and the fuel tanks of cars for ethanol.
