I had heard that it was an immensely popular series in Korea, and as soon as the movie started, I understood why. Ma Dong-seok (imagine a beefed-up Kohei Otomo) plays Detective Ma Sok-to, who knocks down enemies left and right with his bare hands in an exhilarating violent movie! A revelation hit me like a ton of bricks - a nostalgic Showa-era Yakuza vibe filled the air, making it a roller-coaster movie for 105 minutes. Munetaka Aoki passionately portrays a martial arts Yakuza assassin from Japan. The scenes where the two brawl are, in a sense, incredibly refreshing.
