劇団 “ チーズtheater ” を主宰する戸田彬弘が劇団旗揚げ公演のために書き上げた「川辺市子のために」を映画作品として自ら監督し、主演を杉咲花が演じた映画 “ 市子 ” を観て来た。
とある女性の壮絶な半生を、様々な社会問題を絡めながら描いた作品。
皮肉に聞こえたら申し訳ないのですが、舞台を映画にする意図が少し読み解き難い印象を持ちました。設定の強引さに対して、杉咲花という女優の演ずる圧倒的なリアリティの噛み合わせが、上手く言えないのですが何と無くしっくり来ませんでした。
好き嫌いがはっきり分かれている評判の意味が良くわかりました。

I watched the movie “ICHIKO” directed by Akihiro Toda, who leads the theater group “Cheese Theater” and wrote “ICHIKO NO TAMENI” for the inaugural performance of the theater company. Starring Kasumi Arimura, the film depicts the dramatic life of a woman intertwined with various social issues. While I don’t mean to sound ironic, the transition from stage to film felt a bit challenging to decipher. The forcefulness of the setting clashed with Kasumi Arimura’s actress, creating an indescribable sense of discord. I now understand why opinions on this film are divided. @ TOHO Cinemas Chante
