1982年初夏のシチリア島を舞台に、16歳と17歳 少年の恋を描いた実話をベースにした映画 “ シチリア・サマー ” を観てきた。( ジュゼッペ・フィオレッロ監督・脚本 )
たった40年前とは思えないジェンダーに対しての意識の低さに驚くと同時に、田舎で育った僕自身の置かれていた状況を思い出して、少し嫌な気分になりました。様々な状況に於ける差別は現在でも、ここ東京でも相変わらず・・・しっかりと考え続けなければならない、根の深い問題だと強く感じます。
無垢な少年像とシチリアの風景は本当に美しく見応え十分でしたが、前評判が良過ぎた為か・・・個人的には65点って感じでした。

I watched the movie “Fireworks,” based on a true story depicting the love between 16 and 17-year-old boys against the backdrop of Sicily in early summer 1982 (Directed and written by Giuseppe Fiorello). While I marveled at the awareness of gender issues just 40 years ago, it also brought back memories of my own upbringing in the countryside, evoking some uncomfortable feelings. Discrimination in various situations still persists, even here in Tokyo, and it feels like a deeply rooted issue that requires continuous reflection.
The portrayal of the innocent boys and the Sicilian landscape was truly beautiful and captivating, yet perhaps due to overly positive expectations, I personally felt it deserved a score of 65 points. @ Shinjuku Piccadilly
