If someone tells you you can lose 20 lbs in a month… RUN. Here’s why ❤️

Talking numbers in regards to weight loss can be sticky (and controversial) but I feel it’s important to at least acknowledge what is a HEALTHY guideline so that people don’t set up unrealistic expectations for themselves only to (understandably) fall short and then doubt themselves

Because YOU are not the problem. It’s the unrealistic expectations that some in the industry can (unethically) put out there OR even putting people on intentionally super low calorie plans in order to achieve such drastic weight loss, only for the person to gain it all back.

So for the record, here’s a healthy guideline (but remember, this is still just a guideline and it does require being in a consistent caloric deficit)

⭐️ If you have 20-30+ lbs to lose, you can expect to lose roughly:
1-2 lbs per week or 4-8 lbs per month

⭐️ If you have 10 or less lbs to lose, you can expect to lose roughly:
0.5-1 lb per week or 2-4 lbs per month

As I said in the video above, keep in mind you may (hopefully) be gaining muscle, then there’s water weight that can throw off the scale which is impacted by *so many things* so overall, I personally don’t feel the scale is a great reflection of your overall progress and I do not recommend using the scale on a regular (and DEF not a daily) basis.

Instead, use progress pictures, measurements, your strength progress, energy, and overall how your clothes fit and how you feel!

There are SO many other measures of progress that are more important than the number on the scale!!
