With Aurora being born in August 2020, and my birth experience and recovery being so rough, Luca and I seriously struggled. And that seemed to set the tone for several months to come. Being so closed off from the world, there was so much anxiety and fear and uncertainty around every single decision you could imagine 😵‍💫 That, combined with her stopping latching at 7 weeks and me needing to exclusively pump (for a year…) and her not being a great sleeper… it was a tough first year. I know it’s still early and things can change, but he’s SUCH a good sleeper, breastfeeding is going great, AND all the family help we have (for the time being) it’s just been such a dream 🥹❤️ My mom has been here for 2 weeks but she leaves on Tuesday so there will be some adjustments we need to make (she’s been by my side pretty much 24/7 since I had a c-section, so I wouldn’t risk overdoing it) and Luca’s family will be here for 5 more weeks until after Aurora’s 3rd birthday in August. We are soaking up every single minute of family help while we can. It’s not going to last 🥲 BUT it’s truly been a gamechanger for being immediately postpartum and something I’m so so so grateful for.
