I think there are moments even in city when "awe" appears, a feeling that I can't still put into words. It lurks in many forms. And I'm called by it. It grows louder and louder, gradually showing its face and beckoning to me. Before I know it, I'm enveloped. And while I'm deeply soaking in, I'm engulfed in a elation of spirits, and completely absorbed in the experience. I can't explain it yet correctly, but I think I'm getting closer. I'm sure there is something in the pictures I've been pushing so hard today. I want to capture it. I didn't notice when I was taking these pictures — as looking back at the photos later, I think I may have witnessed the moments when hidden wings grow on their back.

言葉にするのが難しい畏怖の念、「awe」が現れる瞬間は、都会にもあるんじゃないかと思う。いろんな形で潜んでいる。呼ばれるのだ。それはだんだん大きくなり、すこしずつ顔を出して、手招きをしてくる。いつのまにか包まれているのだ。そして包まれている間は異様な高揚感に呑まれ、ひたすら夢中になる。まだうまく説明できないのだが、少しずつ正体に近づいていると思う。夢中で押した中に、なんか絶対写ってると思う。それを捉えたいのだ。撮ってる時は気がつかなかった。写真をあとから見返して思うけど、背中に見えない羽根が生えていく様を目の当たりにしたような気がする。
