An emperor shrimp hitches a ride on a Spanish dancer during a Photo Ark shoot @fargloryoceanpark. Spanish dancers, named because their movement is reminiscent of flamenco dancers, are one of the largest sea slug species known to science, growing up to 15 inches in length. This species relies on its bright coloration to deter predators, but should that fail, it can also secrete a potent chemical which it derives from a species of sponge that it regularly feeds on.
