🚨‼️warning: may contain unpopular opinions ⛔️ 💤 1️⃣ Moved husband out of bedroom, navigating feeding a baby all night is hard enough, falling back asleep without the addition of extreme snoring was much easier and worked well for us. 2️⃣ Charged my phone outside of the bedroom. As soon as my brain sees that blue light it wakes up. 3️⃣ Sleep trained both babies using the cry it out method (after all gentle methods failed with our 1st kid) (starting early with the 2nd was clutch- there was little to no crying) (fact: they both became significantly happier humans after this) 4️⃣ Weighted sleep sack for sleep from @dreamlandbabyco 5️⃣ Eliminated caffeine from my diet which was very hard so eventually landed on a morning matcha, it gives me energy no jitters and allows me to fall asleep easily at the end of the night 6️⃣ Got very diligent about making lists and updating the calendar. If I update my ongoing market list throughout the day there’s less of a chance that remembering we are out of eggs will keep me up at night 7️⃣ Removing all pressure to “nap when baby naps” in the day. It’s almost impossible with two kids and believing that it was an option/trying was very frustrating. 8️⃣ Stopped revolving my life around perfect naps at perfect nap times with perfect black out shades and white noises and implemented more messy on-the-go naps which ended up resulting in better night sleep (imagine that) 9️⃣ Remind myself that this is just a season it’s not forever and focused on all of the immense blessings and gummy smiles✨ 🔟 Asked for more help from loved ones.
