Creating zones in small square feet may have the opposite desired effect as it looks very clattered. Think about the scale of furniture you use in the space and use multifunctional furniture (as we discussed last week). If you’re short of space, use a softer palette and remove anything that creates a partition, so your space visually flows and feels more open and airier. Go vertical: Wall-mounted items can utilize the space efficiently. Drop-down desks, and wall-mounted shelves that can be folded away when not in use. For the same reason, Built-in storage can optimize the small space. Built-in cabinets and built-in closets blend seamlessly with the overall design of the room.
