Big cities breed big characters, meaning New York City is packed with supersized personas. Something NYC based street photographer @ilyan says he knows when he sees.⁠

“I like to photograph people who have something visually special about them,” he says of his work. “With street photography, the visual opportunities are limitless and often unexpected.”⁠

Shooting along 5th Avenue in Manhattan and Coney Island in Brooklyn, Niko’s photos capture the larger-than-life essence of The Big Apple and its inhabitants. “I find people in NYC, in general, to be cool subjects,” he says. Shout out to the people of New York City. ⁠

Niko says most of the time, people keep walking or they look behind their backs, thinking he’s photographing someone else. “It’s rare for someone to get upset.” Hard to when the photos turn out this good.
