Although I’m disappointed that I can’t get all glammed up and go to a fun party, it’s not the end goal. This past year has really taught me what’s most important about this line of work. It’s about having more opportunities to tell meaningful stories. From OUR perspective. In the end hopefully our stories will help other communities understand our struggles. Maybe bring us together and have people realize that we are in fact more similar than we are different. Some folks might think that’s a bit too optimistic, or perhaps naive.
