My mother was struck over the head multiple times by the same perpetrator while she was waiting to take the Bart home from work. It was a busy time and although there were lots of commuters waiting for the same train no one said or did anything. My mother did not report the crime. She was 70 at the time. My point in posting this message (artwork by the talented @haveanicedayy_ ) is to remind people that we are all part of the same community. There are ways to help. Regardless of skin color if you see anyone being assaulted, do something. Say something. Offer to escort. And please help protect all elders from violence......Also a reminder why scientists discourage the association of any virus to a country or place and encourage leaders to call it by the scientific name. This recent uptick, I believe, is the direct cause of their refusal to do so. Remember them. Lastly, racism against Asians in America have been around since the first Filipino Sailors touched ground in North America in the late 1500’s. Time for change.」2月17日 22時51分
