Even during a global pandemic, our work on the Photo Ark continues - all masked and distanced safely, of course. Along with native birds, mussels and stream fish, we’ve photographed hundreds of native insects over the past few months. Today we are very excited to announce that the 11,000th species has joined the Photo Ark. And the winner is...drumroll please...this long-toothed dart moth, Dichagyris longidens. Now, it may look rather ordinary, but it’s actually quite mysterious. First described in the late 1800’s, it’s been seldom seen since, and virtually nothing is known about its life cycle. In fact, it’s so hard to find that one had never been photographed alive before! Fortunately it was rediscovered during a Photo Ark expedition along the Pecos River in New Mexico. Join us in celebrating the crossing of the 11,000 mark with a special print sale of the various species I was able to document during the pandemic. Click the link in my bio and make sure to use the code PhotoArk11K when checking out for 30% off prints from the gallery. Don't wait! - Sale ends February 26th!

*offer excludes canvas and framed prints
