Getting back into a regular yoga routine has been one of the best things I’ve done for myself in years. I have been able to work through a lot of really old injuries and have been able to strengthen the places in my body that I have pulled away from because of pain.

*Going really slow and following my breath is one of the best ways I can explore my body especially when doing deep long stretches.
*Last week I accessed a space in my left knee that I injured through hyper extension in gymnastics when I was about 12 years old landing a front flip off of the balance beam. While we were doing deep stretches, I used my breath to move my awareness into that space with love and compassion. It took me back to the moment and to the pain I felt when it happened and how scared I was although I was trying to be brave. I allowed myself to feel it again in a safe space on my yoga mat and with my breath and I cried. I showered myself with love. I forgave myself. I let it all go. I felt a deep connection to my body. My one and only body that has been carrying me through my life. I felt energy moving through spaces that were once closed off. I feel appreciation for everything that I have experienced as I know it leads me to a deeper understanding of who I am. I am grateful for my practice and my love for ultimate self exploration.
*Sometimes it’s hard to get on the mat and flow but whenever I finish a class I always feel much better than when I started. For me, yoga is the medicine my body needs.
