Pierre Bonnard was known for flooding his paintings with colour. Often painting from memory, the colour combinations would sometimes signal the distance or emotion of a particular memory. This painting is called The Bowl of Milk (originally Le Bol de lait), and an old label on the back gives the further title 'Fillette en rose' (Girl in pink). 🌸 He had a fondness for domestic interiors that expressed the simple aspects of everyday life.
