#WorkOfTheWeek by Edouard Vuillard welcomes back some routine for the new year. Vuillard frequently painted friends or family, but he insisted: 'I don't make portraits. I paint people in their homes.' 🏠 This work shows the drawing-room of the artist's Paris house where he lived with his mother. Vuillard's niece stands at the table doing her lessons while her brother is at the window, looking out. The silhouette of the artist's mother can be seen on the right, and Vuillard himself appears in the portrait on the wall.
