It is with great pleasure and delight to introduce a new collection of breathtaking fountain pens handcrafted by @recifeparis and with many thanks to @nikola_pol_writing_vibes for bridging their beautiful world to mine. My heart has a special place for any brand who has a rich history of family heritage with the legacy of craftsmanship passed from one generation to the next. Récife Paris roots began in 1930 when Constantin Samard inherited a passion for leather from his family, who had three generations of excellence in expert saddle making and horse equipment. Constantin continued this legacy by setting up his own company near Paris with a specialization in high quality leather luggage. Fast forward to 1987 when Stephan Arnal, the grandson of Constantin Samard, took over the family business with his longtime school friend, Léo Smaga. Their mutual enthusiasm for traditional craftsmanship led them to relaunch the family company with a modern twist adding fountain pens and an array of beautiful leather goods. Each item is handcrafted from start to finish with no mass production, but instead infused with the soulfulness of a slow process to create a breathtaking instrument that will last a lifetime. I had the honor to choose a few of their signature pens from their Manaus Replica Senior, Iron Age Press Slim and Baoshi Soyouz collections housed in their gorgeous cigar-style leather saddle stitched pen case. More details on each will soon follow, but for today I thought I’d share a stop motion glimpse of their commencement into my creative space. With wholehearted gratitude to @recifeparis for gifting and entrusting these works of art to my hands, and with many thanks to @nikola_pol_writing_vibes for his generous kindness in introducing me to this very special brand to begin with.
