The Chilean rose tarantula may look menacing, but this species is actually known for being quite skittish, often running away from danger instead of acting defensively. However, this arachnid may occasionally raise its front legs and show off its fangs in an attempt to dissuade its attacker. This spider also comes equipped with spine-like hairs on its abdomen that it can release as a defense when threatened, should it feel the need to attack.
