Keith Ladzinski (@Keith Ladzinski) shot these kestrels as they battle it out in a tree near a 13th-century monastery in Prelip, Macedonia. He says it was an odd scene for such a serene place. He counted seven pairs nesting among the ancient cobblestone walls, making them a place of competition and contention. A monk said he welcomed the birds, which help keep mice at bay.
