Italy is known for fashion, and this small town in Tuscany has been the epicenter of wool recycling for centuries. The town has become so efficient at it that today 15% of the world’s recycled textiles come from Prato. The recycling process starts with collection and sorting. These piles of rags have been carefully curated by experienced workers who separate the clothes by color.
