Photograph by Karla Gachet @kchete77 Emilio Cruz and his extended family share a Friday evening in Wasco, CA. His older brother, Constantino, died of a heat stroke in 2005. He left four kids and his wife was pregnant at the time of his death. He had been working in a tomato farm and experienced a heat stroke that sent him to the hospital. He got out five days later and went back to work. He collapsed in the middle of the day, and did not survive. His body was sent back to his parents in Oaxaca. Emilio, who was 15 at the time, went back with his brother’s body. This was a tragedy for the whole family. Emilio still works in the grape fields. #HEAT #migrantfarmworkers #CentralValley
