The show was originally curated by Madeleine Grynsztejn for the La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art. Jaar's first solo museum exhibition in New York featured ground-breaking bodies of work investigating the Brazilian mining industry, Vietnamese refugees in Hong Kong, and the economic development of Lagos, Nigeria.
