Last fall, 2019 #FWBNC @ChefKwameOnwuachi visited Jamaica as an adult for the first time. Thanks to his Jamaican grandmother, the flavors of the island ran throughout the food of his childhood, and he'd been there before, as a kid to visit relatives. But on this trip, he realized how complete his family’s migration had been. With no remaining family on the island, he enlisted the help of friends and local experts and set out to explore the complicated and beautiful culinary history of Jamaica—with plenty of sprats and dumplings along the way.
