We have the ability now to pressure our Senators and Members of Congress to pass EXTENDED PAID LEAVE FOR ALL when they create the next relief package. The Families First Covid Act helped millions of people but has still left 100 million workers out in the cold. And these are predominantly people of color, low wage workers and women.These are our first responders— people who work at the grocery store, pharmacy, hospitals. We need them to be able to stay home if they’re sick so they don’t get their coworkers sick. Sick workers are forced to return to work because they can’t afford to miss a days pay. This means it will take LONGER for our country to recover economically. We can’t rebound until people feel safe to return to work and school. Paid leave for all would be that insurance.
