マーモットさんのインスタグラム写真 - (マーモットInstagram)「Marmot Club Ambassador: Cherisa Hawkins @switchbackshawty I’ve had a camera in my hand since I was a kid. I like to think that my love for photography was the first thing I picked up from my Dad, the second being his enthusiasm for being outdoors. When he passed I used hiking, camping, and backpacking as a way to deal with my grief. He passed from a disease that stole his strength from him, so I decided to honor him by taking my first ever backpacking trip to the Grand Canyon. I spent 27 miles in the Grand Canyon thinking I couldn't do it. I legit thought I had moved into the canyon at one point, because there was no way my body would carry me back out. Turns out I could do it and I did. It was the hardest but most satisfying experience, yet the entire time I distinctly remember constantly feeling inconvenient in my own skin. I not only had to worry if I packed all of the right items, forgot my multitool, or something. I wondered how I was being judged when I showed up as the only person of color on the trail. That anxiety used to keep me from going on hikes, to state campgrounds where there would be other people, even to the store to buy my first pair of boots. For a long time, it kept me from getting started. After my trip, I realized how much being outdoors helped me heal. I wanted to do my part to support other BIPOC people find their place outdoors. What better way than to tell my story through my photography? I hope my photography encourages the next little brown girl or boy to feel comfortable in the outdoors. To SEE that they belong. #marmotclubambassador」7月7日 4時40分 - marmot
