National Geographic Travelさんのインスタグラム写真 - (National Geographic TravelInstagram)「Photo by @francescolastrucci | A Kogi farmer works in El Trompito, an indigenous community on the outskirts of Tayrona National Park, surrounded by the mist of the high mountains of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. I photographed this community while on assignment for a story on the new coffee destination in Colombia. During the four-hour hike uphill, every step took me farther from the crowds, until I found myself completely immersed in nature. When I reached the village, isolated and hidden by the mist of the high forests, I found the mystical environment I was hoping to see. Once unsafe to travel to, this is the sacred ancestral home of four tribes. They are direct descendants of the ancient Tyrona civilization and strong believers that they are the guardians of what they consider to be the Heart of the World. Through meditations, offerings, and prayers at interconnected sacred sites linking the mountains to the rivers and down to the sea, they believe they maintain the equilibrium of life not only for their sacred mountains but for the entire world.
