Feeling unmotivated during quarantine? I’m with you! In spite of the uncertainty (and so little social contact!), there are a few ways to trick your dopamine system. More info/links below:

1. Colorful vision boarding / lists - in addition to what is in my wall, I also use “the high performance planner” by Brendan Burchard. I think it’s around $20 on Amazon and has a lot of great prompts to keep you on track and creating magic everyday.

2. Sleep - you have to read “Why We Sleep” by Matthew Walker to truly comprehend the full extent of sleep’s restorative powers. Dopamine is the tip of the iceberg. I also HIGHLY recommend @ouraring - it changed my life and habits so much, I emailed them and asked if I could become an affiliate to give out discount codes. Will do another post on them at some point, as I used the ring data obsessively during cancer treatment to improve my sleep.

3. Coffee - my favorite brand is @デイヴ・アスプリー’s @bulletproof brand. They are one of the few coffee brands to test for mold in the beans, which sadly, is quite common in many coffee supplies and can lead to a whole host of health problems. In addition to boosting dopamine productions, coffee in and of itself has been shown to have a ton of health benefits including improving cardiovascular health and physical performance.

4. Visualization meditations - listening to some uplifting music while visualizing your completion of a goal will help solidify it in your mind. One of my favorite guided audio tracks for visualization is called “Manifest What You Want” by Jess Shepherd on Spotify.
