In New York in the 1980s, the AIDS epidemic became a previously unimaginable tragedy. The art community was hit particularly hard. The epidemic continues to claim victims throughout the world so in honor of a #DayWithoutArt today, we're looking to artists in the #MoMACollection who were affected by the epidemic and, implicitly or explicitly, addressed the difficult subject in their work.
