No one walks around 24/7 full of joy. You can’t fully appreciate happiness if you don’t experience sadness. _ The best thing to do when your feeling down is to recognize it and say to yourself where is this coming from? When I feel myself getting low I separate and try and work through it. I won’t force the look of being okay just to be around people. I won’t lie and say “I’m fine” when I’m not. I don’t like explaining my feelings to someone who is going to say “you’ll be fine, cheer up” it’s the equivalent of telling a child to stop crying. It’s not healthy to disregard someone’s feelings. Better to just try and listen or ask questions. I avoid all of that and just isolate myself. _ I don’t isolate to throw a pitty party for myself or to put blame on others. I do it so I can focus on why I’m feeling this way. I do my personal development, I make sure I’m eating and hydrated. I usually go outside or I take a drive and sit somewhere nice. The most important thing to me is to not let things spiral out of control. Your mind will take a small situation and turn it into something major so fast. I won’t let myself get lower than I already am. I do the work and ask myself the questions. I remind myself of “The four agreements” which is something I live by and then I try and move on. _ This negative feeling will not go into the next day that is my personal rule. Before bed I always release everything so I can sleep with a clear heart. In the morning I talk to God before getting out of bed and I start over on journey to improving myself. _ Your going to have bad days, expect it. Prepare for how your going to handle them because if you don’t they’ll get out of hand very fast. I’ve been in that dark hole of depression that only a bottle of vodka could get me through.
