There are three main roles: Yoshitsune is a general of the Genji clan fleeing from his brother Yoritomo after he started having a discord with his brother. Benkei is his faithful follower risking his life to pass through a barrier station. And Togashi is the guardian of the station that keeps it under strict surveillance to capture Yoshitsune and his men. This time, I was being filmed playing the three roles as Yoshitsune, Benkei and Togashi in modern style. I wrote my commentary on the charm of this play “Kanjinchō”, one of the most popular plays in Kabuki, from my perspective.
