When I was 11 I got hit by a car, and it set me back in sports. It changed my perception and pushed me towards something that didn’t require traditional athletic ability, and that was skateboarding. Discovering skateboarding is something you can do by yourself or with other people, but there’s no real rules to it. Skating was such an amazing thing for me because it opened my eyes to a creative culture that had a physical outlet. I had always liked to draw and paint, and skateboarding gave me a cooler outlet for my creativity because I could make homemade stencils, shirts, stickers, and re-paint the bottom of my board. Skateboarding and punk rock with their DIY culture was a big break-through for me in terms of a creative outlet that allowed me to become the artist that I am today.⁠⠀

builttogrind I remember skating some spine/mini with you back in New England, when you were just a nerdy RISD kid hanging out at the ramp. So I guess that whole art thing worked out pretty good for you, huh? 🤔 Lol.

piernas_locas_ Being born with muscular dystrophy allowed me to only stand on a skateboard and ride it, but it was the catalyst that lead me to what I do today.

ruggyranks Very relatable. No competition, no need for a team, always fun with friends, but still plenty of of fun solo. Great years for me
